heya!! back from EMERGE!!! really enjoyed every single bit of it! i must say it was the best camp i went to! if u were wondering what's going on, i just wanna let u know that u didn't miss out on everything. don't feel bad if u couldn't make it.
kay, firstly, i was in abi-albon! the grp names this year were wierd, i must say. they were all great warriors' names in 2 Samuel. some can't be pronounced, some were cute, like ahiam.
let get started or i'll never finish this post.
DAY 1 [10/12]
1.30-2pm: Met @ chapel...was almost late. registered, collected camp booklet n put on a IGNYTE tatoo on my left hand :) put my bag with my grp's and then went into chapel to find my grp. wanna know my grp? ABI-ALBON: [adult leader] Zhichao [GL] Jean , [AL] Chloe (she wd be joining us on day 2 cos she was still in japan, with inez of course), Timo, Jeremy, Theodore, Daniel, Faith, Carissa n me! had a briefing n another briefing for logistics [i had to help bring some logistics into malaysia. almost my whole lcell was there lars]
2-6pm: left church and set off to malacca!!! was on bus 1. the bus uncle was so irritating, kept saying that singaporean dunno english cos we dunno how to spell malacca. but actually we dunno whether to spell malay version [melaka] or malacca. he dunno one larh. anw, had alot of fun there. it was a 3h ride from malaysia customs. slept a little, didn't play much cos didn't really know my grp mem yet. theodore was carrying the loudhailer n he set off the alarm twice! haha, u shd have seen his face!
6-7pm: finally reached mahkota hotel...the 1st bus to reach...heard it was quite old alrdy, but seems okay to me. ballroom deco was erm...hurhur. but nvm, we got to know each other better by playing games n round of intro, while waiting for the other buses to arrive [total no. of buses: 9]
7-8pm: DINNER!!! we've booked Spices restaurant for 4 days n we had every meal there, buffet style. WHOOTS!!! wide spread of food for every meal, so u never get hungry right after meals :)
8-11pm: Service. Title: Emerging FRom Egypt. Speaker: Pastor Darick.
11pm: Went back to apartment. Roomate was yvonne [spelling dunno whether correct]. inez was going coming the nxt day with chloe n she's my roomate too!!! this wd be the 3rd time being roomates. haha. sis gwen was supposed to share apartment too but she didn't turn up. the apartment had 2 bathrooms so we both showered at the same time. BUT...sis gwen came and knocked on the door. no one answered cos couldn't hear. she said she banged n shouted but nope. so she went to sleep with joan. so sorry!!! there were 2 rooms [1 with 2 single beds, n another with 1 queen bed], 1 living room [with tv, but nothing to watch, only malay prog], 1 kitchen. slept with yvonne in the 2 single bed room first cos didn't wanna sleep alone. couldn't sleep...aircon noisy but nvm...managed to yea.
DAY 2
6.15-7am: woke up, changed into games attire n went down for breakfast.
7-7.45am: Breakfast. lurvv the food there. eat till i almost burst, i think. was 'forced' to eat some of the leftovers...everybody had to :)
7.45-8.15am: TAWG: Getting Ready
8.15-10.15am: "Moving on, moving up" games. had the moomoo thingy with was uber disgusting. we had to chew gum then spit it out n pass it around, n around, while singing a song. then had to put all the gum together and make a sculpture of a HP. yew! then we went to the carpark for some games like the lock games when we had to listen to our leader n turn round to uncode a lock. also had a game where we had to put a particular part of our body into a cloth n another person supposed to guess who's not there ['moving together']. then, chloe joined us!! we were just playing a game at the 'Punctual' station where we had to count a certain no. of seconds in out minds n see who's the most accurate, or smth like that.
10.15-12.30pm: went back to change to service attire n had service. Title: Building The Great House Of God. Speaker: Pastor Gary
12.30-1.30pm: Lunch.
1.30-2.30pm: Group Dynamics 1: Expectations. after that, we changed into games attire: dark tee n shorts
2.30-5.30pm: "Every Men Counts" game. 1st station: 6 gals [carissa, me, jean, huirou, n 2 other gals] sit on a mat on grass n the guys have to drag the mat. my grp guys: timo, daniel n jeremy. station 2 @ carpark: bible knowledge...they asked q like what the previous name of ____? kk...players: theodore, chloe, jean. station 3: 'couragous' disgusting man...someone had to go out n let the other grp make u as gross as possible using: lipstick, shampoo, flour....Player: carissa!!! brave gal! station 4: bro zc joined us. supposed to lead us 3 by 3 to the other side but we cannot open eyes n must crawl as low as possible. my knee almost bleed larhs..but good job everyone!!! the winners of every game gets 13 bomb bags n loser get 7 bomb bags. we collected 37 bags...so, guess what's after that? YEAH!!! WATER BOMB!!! we were split into 2 grps, i was in wing 4. WAR CRYYYY!!!!! managed to bomb aloy n some other adult leaders too!!! didnt get wet much though..a few drops of water? haha :) geraldine got wet from head to toe...some person just took a pail of water and poured it on her head!! haha! go geraldine!!!
5.30-6.15: BATH TIME!!!! found inez...she was in the same grp as ju n sarah n yvonne...kk. then we bathed n changed to games attire again.
6.15-7pm: Dinner! had to bring down our blindfold n passport size photo.
7-11.30pm: "Realign!!!" My favourite game throughout the whole camp. we were blindfolded...yes. everyone in the grp. every camper. the adult leaders are supposed to lead us around the hotel to take part in some activities. MAN!!! IT WAS FUNNN!!!!! took a long time to get out of the restaurant...cos slowly slowly marhs.. chloe was behind me n i was holding onto faith's shoulder... we squeesed in the lift then too crowded..haha. went up to many apartments for activities. 1st: we were supposed to fix a puzzle on an A4 size paper. almost got it but becos of time, we left. 4 ppl could take out blindfold but i didnt. jean, timo, jeremy n carissa. 2nd: went to sit down at a table, YAY!! can take out blindfold. supposed to memorise some Bible verses. Psalms 139 vs 1-4. we didnt get tricked my sis limin! she asked us to play a game with her n said that it was part of the activity. haha. we didnt believe her. then the ppl that were supposed to put on blindfold had to put on. chloe n jean swopped n chloe became my partner. she led me to the tennis court station 'Fools For Christ'. sis jo was fierce man! she told everyone to put on blindfold n do pushups, sit ups. the gals could actually do women's one but we didn't so she was quite lenient on us. we had to redo n redo n stay in that position for a while. she was prompting us to give up then we dont need to do liaoz but YAY! no one gave up! could hear timo beside me n he was like counting loudly...after this, we went to an apartment...can take out blindfold.. but no use, me, theodore, faith n carissa cannot see clearly. supposed to spot the difference in a room. jean guessed it all! she was without glasses lehs. go gal! then must find some piece of paper in a basket of shreded paper. only found a blank piece. then everyone put on blindfold n went to the hibiscus room. take out. so scary larhs. got a shock when i took out. all the pastors were sitting at the table n we had to line up in a line facing them. the room was half-lit. then they called each of our names n held on a paper with our photograph [i think]. they told us if we could leave the room. faith n daniel had to stay behind n join a grp of ppl at the dark side of the room. scary larhs. i was the last one to be called. so scared that i wd have to stay back. gd thing...nope. the rest of us gathered outside the room n we like still in shock. why were there 2 ppl left behind. scary larhs. kk. then we went back to ballroom. prayed for faith n daniel n for the worship part later. zc dunno where he put our specs larhs. luckily can find. went in n joined the rest for a time of worship. great time. then faith n daniel joined us at the end...faces not too good..
11.30pm: the day was over...collected our supper [biscuits] n went back to apartment to eat...lights off was at 12.30 but we dare not sleep cos we scared we lock sis gwen out of the room again. haha. so while waiting for her [she went to joan's room to pick up her stuff], we ate cookies n bisciuts. kk. then we slept. warh..slept in queen bed room with inez. she was too tired so she from nite till morning, she sleep in that same position. haha :)
DAY 3
6.45-7.30am: woke up, changed into sports attire n went down.
7.30-8am: 5BX :( the ballroom was split into 2, one side guys, one side gals. did loads of pushups, sit ups n played a game. supposed to carry your partner. chloe carryed like 8 ppl? haha :) WOW!
8-9am: breakfast. then went back n changed to service attire.
9-9.30am: TAWG: A New Generation
9.30-12pm: Service. Ttile: A New Generation From Gilgal. Speaker: Pastor Darick. got annointed n prayed for by bro adrain...had a great time encountering God!!
12-12.45pm: Lunch.
12.45-2.45pm: went back for siesta! WHOOTSS!!! guessed that we wd have that in the morning. n my wish came true! haha :) needed some rest from all that rushing, since day 1. had to rush or else have to do pushups n situps [punishment by bro kahfei, camp commandant]. didn't sleep. inez, yvonne n i sat in the room n talked n talked. laughed, got high. rest. that's rest :) then we changed n went down early.
2.45-6pm: "Bridging The Gap" evangelism game. there were 5 profiles of targeted ppl given to us. "ryan", "ashley", "spencer williams", "maryanne" [fake figures] we were supposed evangelise save as many as possible. funn! we targeted ashley n ryan. so we went to find stations for us to do. the 1st station: prayer. jean n chloe had to fill a cup [on theodore's head] using their hair. kk. done. that was prayer for ryan. then we ran round n round the squash court becos we were 'running/training with ashley. did a note of encouragement for ashley. ate fried mealworms for ryan. played playstation with ryan. haha :) sis trina was 'ryan' n she like dont care us. jeremy n timo played car game with her n purposely let her win. then she asked timo to crash her. haha. crash the ncrash lorh :) talked to sis limin, 'ryan's fren'. she was shy n asked us to talk to ryan. then ryan threw the slip of paper at us n chased us out of the apartment. WHOA! SCARY MAN! then we went downstairs to clean up the hse for ashley. chloe n i left our water bottles there :( went back later then cannot find. i think while other grps cleaned up the hse, they threw our bottles away...we then went to pray again for ashley. chloe, jean n theodore got hair wet again. went to carpark to look for stations. found out that "spencer williams" n "maryanne" just died... :( luckily we were not targeting them...we SAVED ASHLEY!!! some grps didnt managed to. how we did it? sis lorraine [ashley] asked us to tell her some testimonies n we asked if we could 'pray' with her, she laughed at us n said "i saved alrdy larh. time's up. go sit in the ballroom. other grps want to save me aso" haha :)
6-7pm: Dinner!
7-.7.30pm: Group Dynamics 2: Emerging As God's Warrior
7.30-11.30pm: Service. Title: Leaping To The Unknown. Speaker: Pastor Gary. encountered God! Pastor Gerald came n annointed Pastor Darick n Pastor Gary as District Pastors of IGNYTE PL n IGNYTE Adam respectively :) he wanted to pour the whole bottle of oil but didn't. could sense the presence of God in the place as he annointed them as our leaders :) bro victor's leaving IGNYTE n gg to children's ministry :( bro andy's gg to adam. prayed alot for all categories of studies for ppl. ended quite late but its okay...its the last nite of camp :(
11.30-12.30pm: Supper! had cup noodles...shared with chloe :) went round the grp and said our testimonies n what God spoke to us this camp :) then wanted to take grp photo but then no time.
12.30pm: Went back to bathe n pack up...inez just stuffed everything into her bag larhs. HAHA :) SLEEP!!!! but cannot sleep...cant bear the thought of leaving....
DAY 4
6.15-7am: supposed to wake up at 6.15am, but couldn't. yvonne banged on the door dunno how many times larhs :) i heard it n quickly sat up in my bed, realising that it was alrdy 6.30pm..aiyohs...inez dontwan get up. so i go change first lorh. she 6.45 then get up but she change quite fast larh :) then we grabbed our bags then went downstairs.
7-8.15am: Put my bag into Hibiscus room under bus 1. Breakfast. we thought it was the last meal together but we treasured the time we ate together :) heard that chloe was in bus 3 with inez cos 2 of them came only on day 2. after breakfast, all of us went to plead with si jo to let chloe sit with us. YAY! she said can!
8.15-12pm: Last Service. Title: Emerge As A New Generation Of Kings. Speaker: Pastor Gerald. it was last min decision for him to preach but its okay..glad he made it to malacca :) encountered God again. then we had to stack the chairs in the ballroom n sit in our sections. then we saw the ppt slides of whose section we wd be nxt year. deb n sarah gg to adam....i dontwan. only left christine n i. the 'highhigh' gals would be joining my buzz grp under me nxt year. feeling doubtful of how i can lead them cos i dont know them that well. but i m trusting n having faith in the Lord :) i wd still be in zhichao's section :D i mean like from p6 orientation to sec 1 to EMERGE camp leader to sec 2...WOW! haha :) inez n mich will be joining geraldine n the rest in kahfei's section...so unfair!!!!!! now they all together...except me. only me! i dontwan!!! somemore the sec 2s will be going to upper sec :( I WANT GRACE LEE!!!! BOOHOO!!! :( dontwandontwandontwan split. she going adam. saw many ppl crying...feel sad for them, at least i have some of my frens here but they? the church seems like its gonna be 2 separate churches. that's what i told zc. like 0 contact. then got no time to meet up. then we split into PL n Adam, PDa shared his heart to us. then got recruitment. the skit by si waiwai n gang was so farnie larhs. i saw many of my section p6 join worship min. every year aso like that one. hope they wd know its tough n requires alot of effort before u can start serving. i think they dont really understand it. i know loads of ppl wanna join worship too, like grace n timo...dunno whether he want to be in dnd alrdy but he says he is coming for the party. both of em wanna join keyboard n many ppl. understand from chloe that it is really tough.
12-1pm: Lunch. our final meal together...dontwan to go back...i wish it was 5 days more. so fast n everything's ending :( we were gg to be the first to leave so we quickly ate.
1-4.30pm: grabbed our bags n headed for the lobby. said gdbye to mahkota n headed back. on the bus, we exchanged camp booklets n wrote contacts n msges for everyone. the bus was so bumpy while gg out of malacca so handwriting sucks :( chloe, timo, jeremy n i sat right at the back then we listened to music n sang along. borrowed hannah's speakers n she sat with us while we listened to mr brown on timo's ipod. so farnie larhs :) we laughed like crazy. zc came to the back n we asked him to listen too. he blurblur cannot understand, we laugh he just stand there adjusting the speaker so he could hear clearly. on the way, we stopped by for toilet break n snacks. had a drink. bus 3 ppl was there too. chatted with inez n gerr then they left 1st. heard that bro darren had a quarell with the bus uncle. dunno becos of what larhs. didnt sleep on the bus....but all huddled together n rested for a while. saw some cows out of the window. i lurv the scenery in malaysia! rained so we slowed down. YAY!! i dontwan to go back so fast... reached customs n singapore...passed by RGPS. chloe n i squealed n then the guys look at as if we were xiao! haha :) i miss primary school...reached church n unloaded the logistics. n said byebye to grp mates as they left. i waited with mich for her mum n bro n sis cos they were on another bus. daddy finally came n i left :(
camp is over n i m at home, having withdrawal symtoms from it. i miss camp alrdy. why must all good things come to an end. chloe: INCREDIBLE STAYING POWER!!! yeah! will rmb that. chatted with timo n chloe when i came back. felt much better. thanks for listening! thinking about the times when theodore believes that yellow watermelon is actually pinapple, honeydew is green pinapple since there is yellow watermelon. miss eating watermelon for every meal. miss the games we played to see who's eating the leftovers. missed having fun at the games n the unity we had...missed everything. i wish it will all come back to me now. but thank God we are all gg to PL...hoping nxt year's camp, although it would be half this size, that we would still have this much fun! have nice grp members liike this year's! WHOOTS!!! EMERGE A NEW GENERATION!!!
